Dear Esteemed Colleagues, Speakers, and Participants,

It is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to the 20th Congress of the Korea Hernia Society (KHS) & 2026 International Symposium. Under the theme “Building Bridges in Hernia Surgery: Education to Excellence,” this congress has been prepared as an international forum where experts and learners can come together to share knowledge, discuss new ideas, and deepen cooperation in hernia surgery.

We are delighted to welcome not only our Korean members, but also distinguished overseas speakers and participants from around the world. Your presence makes this meeting richer in academic value and broader in international friendship. I sincerely hope that this congress will be a meaningful opportunity for all of us to learn from one another and to strengthen our shared commitment to excellence in hernia care.

This year’s scientific program offers a comprehensive understanding of modern hernia treatment, including minimally invasive and robotic surgery, mesh selection and placement, management of obesity-related hernia, complication management, and surgical education for the next generation. Through these sessions, we hope to advance both practical knowledge and academic collaboration in the field of hernia surgery.

Beyond the scientific program, I also hope that all of our guests will enjoy Korea, experience our warm hospitality and culture, and create lasting memories during their stay. May KHS 2026 be a successful, inspiring, and enjoyable meeting for everyone.

Thank you for joining us, and once again, welcome to KHS 2026.

Sincerely,

Yours sincerely,

Sung IL Choi
President, Korea Hernia Society
